LEOPOLD VERGUET, PHOTOGRAPHIC PIONEER

From 1860 to about 1900 Canon Léopold Verguet (1817-1914), a pioneer in photography, took dozens of photographs of the city. His work, a reliable record of the state of the citadel during the restoration work, also gives us valuable pictures of daily life inside and beside the monument.
